The mods add more unit balance to this faction which makes gameplay more palatable for me.Įdit: To the OP, I got the pirates pack at a time when I was prepared to stop supporting further dlcs if it was a disappointment. That's what I call challenging but not punishing. This does not feel challenging but punishing.Įven with mods, the only faction I'm willing to play besides Getae is Ardiaei because they start off in a more defensible position with low income and few friends. Tylis starts off at war with the powerful Macedonians and extremely low income, yet it's punished with severe public order penalty. Otherwise, gameplay feels boring and punishing. Factions in "challenging" positions should be given a decent unit roster to compensate for their precarious position. My Ordressian campaign was so boring with the limited unit roster that the game became more a chore than a challenge. And just because units are called "raiders/marines" does not make them pirates or have less water movement penalty unlike say Lusitani stealth warriors that can deploy outside the normal zone if I remember (in other words, supposedly exotic units should have actual exotic effects). Total War: ROME II Nomadic Tribes Culture Pack About the DLC: The Nomadic Tribes Culture Pack adds a new playable culture comprising three new playable Factions to Total War: ROME II, for use in Single or Multiplayer Campaign modes and Custom and Multiplayer battles. Their melee roster severely lacks swordsmen without mods and their cav is also very limited. Originally posted by Pezhetairos:The P&R factions are among the more exotic (gameplay-wise) with the odrysians and ardiae having a very narrow selection of units, some of which however are highly specialized and can make for a challenging and unconventional campaign if you play without unit-mods.I cannot see how Ardiaei can ever be exotic when you get mostly Greek units that are not as powerful as the originals besides the elite units.
